The day is drawing nigh...

...even though at times it doesn't feel that way!
The Lord has blessed the wedding planning amazingly and I finished sewing my wedding dress early this week! Today Kami, Mom, Annie, and I made all the party favors, almond bark covered pretzles! Since we've got all the large things finished, time seems to have slowed down a bit for me. I am sure that after this Sunday the days will start going a lot faster.
I do have some more packing to do, which I will work on some more this evening.
I'm going to be staring a new private blog where I'll post pictures of David and I and what we're up to after we're married, so if you're a friend and want to be added, just let me know!!!
(Ha! I'm going to have to change my user name to Mrs. S now...instead of Miss C.!!!)

These pictures are before we stained it with Water Lox.

Polishing Silver

I really enjoy polishing silver, for a few reasons...
First, because this was my grandmother's silver and it's special for me to be polishing something that was her's.
I also enjoy it becuase it's kind of like a treasure hunt! It's very rewarding to see what some elbow grease (and silver polish, of course) can do to make something so dull and grimey turn into something so gorgeous and pretty for everyone to enjoy!
Coffee just somehow tastes a little better coming out of this...

Breakfast Surprise!

Yumm! :o) I made "Breakfast Surprise" last Saturday. I just had to snap a shot of it as it was coming out of the oven!
(Thanks for the recipe, Ava!)

EDITED TO ADD:
After much interest in this lovely, delicious breakfast I am posting the recipe below:

Breakfast Surprise
Preheat oven to 400

1/2 c. butter
2-3 apples, sliced
1 and 1/2 c. milk
1 c. flour
6 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 Tbl. sugar

Instructions:
Melt butter in 9"x13" pan in oven until it sizzles; add sliced apples- watch so they don't burn-bake quickly. (check after 10 min.) Stir together rest of ingredients (only 1/2 tsp. of the cinnamon). Pour over baked apples and bake 30 (or so) min.
Sprinkle the cinnamon on top and drizzle honey or syrup if desired. We sprinkle with the juice of a lemon and powdered sugar! Serve immediately~enjoy!

A Day on the Town...with a John Deere

So, first we had to go to Chevron to gas (or should I say diesel?) up!
Then, how could we resist going to go get some coffee? By the way...I took most of these pictures and Dad took one. :o)

Breakfast at Huckabee's

Ok, I couldn't resist! I had to post another one. :o)

To the tune of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Deep Blue Something

Lyrics-

You said you've got nothing in common
With the candidates to choose from
And you're losing heart
You'll say the Big Three don't do it for you
Their negative ads bore youAnd you just might stay home

So I said, "What about voting for Huckabee?"
She said, "I think I remember that man,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked him."
And I said, "Well, he's the best hope we've got."

You see he's the only one who's for them
Faith, Family and Freedom
In the right order
So what now?
It seems he's the best for us
He's even got Chuck Norris
Telling us how it's gonna be

(When the eyes of the ranger fall upon youYou better like Mike)

So I said, "What about voting for Huckabee?"
She said, "I think I remember that man,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked him."
And I said, "Well, he's the best hope we've got."

Huckabee Music Video

These guys are great! To listen to their other Huckabee songs go here: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=RobinsMatt
Lyrics:
Huck! I need somebody
Huck! Not just anybody
Huck!
We really need someone
Huckabee!

(When... when I was young...)
When I was younger, so much younger than today
(I thought that I...)
I thought that I could go and throw my vote away
(Now... those days are gone...)
But now those days are gone, I know what they are worth
(There's only one...)
Now there's only one man I can vote for on this earth

Huckabee will take terrorists down
And fight to keep the right to life around
Illegal immigrants stay on your ground
Won't you please vote Huckabee

(Hey... we need a change...)
The USA will change in oh so many ways
(Let's break the bank...)
With Huck the IRS will vanish in a haze
(Give... their bill of rights...)
he'll give the veterans the rights that they deserve
(And sing and paint...)
And thinks that school without the arts is borderline absurd

Huckabee will take terrorists down
And fight to keep the right to life around
Illegal immigrants stay on your ground
Won't you please vote Huckabee
