Polishing Silver

I really enjoy polishing silver, for a few reasons...
First, because this was my grandmother's silver and it's special for me to be polishing something that was her's.
I also enjoy it becuase it's kind of like a treasure hunt! It's very rewarding to see what some elbow grease (and silver polish, of course) can do to make something so dull and grimey turn into something so gorgeous and pretty for everyone to enjoy!
Coffee just somehow tastes a little better coming out of this...

There is a search box for my blog already at the very top left of the page.

Yes, it is. I see that now. It's so obvious that you almost doesn't think about it. Well, then you only have to add a search box if you want to provide a web search option. Hava a nice day!

How pretty! And how special that it's something handed down like that.

I polished all our silver the other day too!

Ah! Newly polished silver is so elegant! We inherited a lot of our Grandma's silver and sometimes wondered why silver was considered so pretty...that is until we polished it! The difference is like night and day. We can imagine how when Jesus comes in our hearts, they should shine like polished silver.

If you have any Lord of the Rings enthusiasts among your blog friends they will get a laugh out of this story: One day the girls were polishing silver and we were listening to the LotR read on tape. The narrator was describing mithril, the metal mined by the dwarves, and said it shone like silver but never needed to be polished. The girls looked up at me with an indescribable expression. There they were, hands covered in silver polish, with silver platters, sponges and rags spread over the whole table! They certainly wished for mithril at that moment!
Blessings!
